Leading from the Library

Leading from the Library

Episode Summary

Welcome to a new Future Ready Schools® podcast series, Leading from the Library. As we head into a new year full of change, opportunities and uncertainty, it is more important than ever to be leaders within and from our library, making a difference throughout our school district and within the lives of our students, teachers, families and others. I’m Shannon McClintock Miller, Future Ready Librarian Spokesperson and National Faculty Member for Future Ready Schools. I am also the district teacher librarian and innovation director at Van Meter Community School in Van Meter, Iowa. In this series, the topics will focus on the many ways Future Ready Librarians® lead as we hear stories and ideas from some of the nation’s top teacher librarians. They will inspire us and make us look at our practice within the topics of collection development, diversity, virtual and school library spaces, collaboration, empowering students as creators, continuous and remote learning and so much more. Together, through conversations, connecting and learning, we will inspire one another to take on this year and make a giant difference for the ones we serve and for our school libraries. It’s our time to shine, friends. I hope you’ll join me in this journey as we lead from our libraries.
