In this episode, Elissa Malespina joins Shannon McClintock Miller as they talk about stepping up and taking a lead as a librarian. Elissa, with her unique perspective and role as a school board member, in addition to a high school librarian, shares the difference she has made within her community. It is important for all librarians to not only get a seat at the table, but to have a voice in the decisions and policies being made. Our voice can and will make a difference as Future Ready Librarians and advocates education and most of all, our young people. The views in this episode are Elissa’s and not those of the South Orange Maplewood Board of Education.
